Focus on time: The Belisar Pilot Big Date model combines classic pilot watch attributes with a typical Glashütte speciality – big date. However, with its crosshair-like stylistic element and neat design, the striking timepiece boasts an extremely modern appearance with an elegant military look.
The dial on the Belisar Pilot Big Date is based on historical pilot watches on which the hour and minute scales were often separated from each other. This distinction is made even clearer by the different shape of the indices: The inner scale for the hours has pointed markings, while the outer minute indices are angular.
The centre of the dial boasts a turquoise coordination cross whereby the tip of the right-hand arrow points to the big date adjacent to it. The two independent date discs make reading the date particularly easy. All numerals are applied in white in a very straight font resembling that used in air travel and shipping. All numerals and indices are made of luminous material so that the date is easy to read both day and night.
The stainless steel case, measuring 45 mm, guarantees good visibility by its dimensions alone. It has the screwed-on flanks characteristic of the Belisar collection and a crown which is easy to grip and operate. The sophisticated military look is rounded off in style by a sturdy brown leather strap with sporty rivets and light-coloured contrast stitching.
The U 2896 mechanical movement ensures precise timekeeping and can be admired through the screwed- on sapphire crystal case-back. The Belisar Pilot Big Date model is available in retail outlets for EUR 2,250.
